The idea is brilliant however, I am baffled by the anti-vibration solution being plastic push-pins. These basically "clip" onto the outside corners of the fan (also, fyi if you accidentally put the wrong mount on, to get these off you take the rubber part of the mount off and press down on the clip, they should slide right off. The Silentwings 3 come with regular screw mounting holes and "anti-vibration" mounting holes. No idea what they were thinking with this one. I can say, given that I've listened to my friend's build with Silentwings 2 installed, I think the Silentwings 3 are even a touch quieter than those (which I'd say were roughly on par with Noctua, but nowhere near the radiator performance).Ĭons: Plastic anti-vibration mounting? Literally the only con out of this entire thing. The crew at be quiet! must've blessed these with a rare black magic or something, because I have no idea how they stay so quiet given their RPM.

I am astonished at how quiet these things are even at full speed. I never thought I'd say this, but I think these are definitively quieter than my Noctuas. If you're looking at these or the SW2's and your primary concern in radiator performance, definitely go with the SW3's.įurthermore, the noise level. My cpu idles at 19 C (not a typo) and does not break over 40 at full load (this is running a 6770k at a 4.7ghz overclock). I fitted my Kraken X61 with 2 of these bad boys with an additional 2x140 SW3's at the front and a 120mm SW3 at the back, and I have been amazed by their performance. Let me summarize this review right up front, that if you value radiator performance and quiet operation, for the love of all that is good in this world buy these now.Īs mentioned, the major thing that set these apart for me, was their touted radiator performance. I am -extremely- picky when it comes to my fans, and I did a ton of research before I bought these Silentwings. However, in my latest build I going for an actual color scheme, knocking the tan & brown Noctuas out of contention (yes, I could have lobbied for industrial fans, but they're just too expensive for the tradeoff of being a touch louder as well). I absolutely adore their quiet and powerful performance. Pros: Full disclosure, I'm a bit of a Noctua fanboy. They are your best choice for any application that requires the ultimate in quiet operation and uncompromised Product conception, design and quality control in Germany.High-speed models are especially recommended for use in powerful water cooling and air cooling set ups.Advanced high quality IC motor controller reduces electrical noise.
